The View from A1 & A2

A Fresh View of Music

Like tea, music is a taste-based experience. I may adore a particular type of tea (or song), but that doesn't mean anyone else will. So, to continue with the analogy, readers will get the benefit of two taste-testers.

Commentary from A1

I'll document my experience of the music. Which is unlikely to be technical. It might be textures, tastes, sensations, sounds, or even stories playing out before my eyes. It will definitely be an adventure, and I'll take you along for the ride.

Commentary from A2

This seat will usually be filled by my mother, an 83-yr old with opinions of her own. In some cases, there will be guest opinions. Composers, music teachers, and maybe even some performers will make an appearance.

To underscore the "music is like tea" point, I'm leveraging the analogy.

  • Cup up if I'd like a refill.
  • Cup down to pass.

What's with the blog title?

The blog is named after my favorite seats at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas.

Loge Box Left Seats A1 & A2 perch over the stage, allowing more than just hearing the music. I can see and feel it.
